There are so many different ways to help the animals!

Who We Are and What We Do:

Happy Paws was formed by President Peg Bennett in February 2009.  Peg felt there was a great need in the Plattsmouth area for citizens to do more for all the companion animals and homeless animals at the Plattsmouth Animal Shelter.  Our group is about 25 strong now!  We are a motivated bunch of citizens that hold fundraisers so that we are able to pay for the "extras" for all the animals.  We have held bake sales, raffles, dog washes, vaccinations clinics and microchipping clinics.  All the money that is raised goes into helping the animals!  With the help of a dedicated Volunteer Vicki Meadors, Happy Paws was able to become an official non-profit organization which entitles Donors to a tax deduction for their donations.  Won't you help out today!!  Every little bit helps all the animals feel a little more comfortable and loved.

 In a year's time, Happy Paws has provided dog beds, flea/tick preventative, over $2000 in vet care, dog/cat toys and treats. Volunteers have spent many saturday at Adoption Fairs to place homeless pets in a new loving home.   Happy Paws members all donated towards a beautiful painted Mural inside the Plattsmouth Animal Shelter which really brightened up the building.  Changes are being made everyday.
